The TEAC VRDS-10 is a very serious CD player from around 30 years ago now. Utilising the venerable Sony KSS-151A laser mech and a custom, heavy-duty direct-drive CD motor and chassis, the VRDS-10 means business. In this article, we repair and service this old girl.

The VRDS-20 and 25 used the next one up again, and I believe the only Teac-labelled unit that had the top VRDS transport was the P30 although maybe the P2 used that top mechanism too. The VRDS drives were also used as an EOM devise in other brands of player, including the top VRDS that was found in exotic players or transports.

2005-03-12 12:31 am. #1. Hi all, I have recently won a faulty Teac vrds 10 on ebay (cheap enough, so it made sense). The seller said some caps were missing but it was not just that. It seems like someone tried to tweak the player but didn't manage. The clock (the quartz) was disconnected, but no new clock was installed.
